Detailed Birding Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival & Birding En Route to Latpanchar
Arrive at NJP Junction or Bagdogra Airport. Begin the journey to the mountain village of Latpanchar with strategic birding stops targeting foothill species. Check in, have lunch, and enjoy late-afternoon local birding.

Day 2: Full-Day Birding at Latpanchar
Spend the day exploring the prime birding hotspots around Latpanchar. Focus on observing and photographing the iconic Rufous-necked Hornbill and other Eastern Himalayan specialties in their natural habitat.

Day 3: Full-Day Birding & Hide Photography
A specialized day combining field birding with a hide-based photography session. This setup provides ideal conditions for capturing high-quality images of shy and elusive Himalayan bird species.

Day 4: Deep Forest Excursion in Latpanchar
Explore deeper, flexible trails within the Latpanchar forests. Routes will be dynamically chosen by your guide based on recent sightings and seasonal bird activity to target missed species.

Day 5: Transfer to Ghoom via Senchal
Early morning departure toward Senchal Wildlife Sanctuary. After birding en route, arrive in Ghoom, check into the homestay, and spend the afternoon birding the surrounding high-altitude trails.

Day 6: Full-Day Birding at Senchal Wildlife Sanctuary
Spend a full day inside Senchal WLS, one of India’s oldest protected areas. Focus entirely on high-elevation Himalayan birds, with trails selected based on weather and seasonal movements.

Day 7: Birding at Ghoom & Transfer to Rongtong
Start with early morning birding around the Ghoom homestay. After breakfast, travel down to the foothills at Rongtong, birding along the way, before checking into the Sukuna Homestay.

Day 8: Rongtong Birding & Departure
Enjoy a final morning birding session in Rongtong’s rich low-to-mid altitude habitat. Following lunch, proceed to NJP or Bagdogra Airport to conclude the expedition.
